I'd be truly surprised if an incumbent president in the midst of this kind of political turmoil were ousted at election time. Despite the fervor over domestic issues that fuels the fire for Kerry voters, I think the public will hesitate to hand off this political "hot potato" and risk what can happen while Kerry is getting up to speed. I'm not a Bush fan, but I am a realist.

Wasn't Daniel Pearl killed in pakistan? Those aren't Arabs.

We cannot cut and run--I am so afraid that Kerry is going to win this one. The media has just been unfair to Bush--it is a complex war and no one is willing to take the time to understand the nuances.

This war was imposed on George Bush, the candidate who wanted to withdraw from the world and bring GIs home......bin Laden's surprise planned under Clinton became the new President's test.
There is no hiding from this enemy.....it grew in the fetid Middle East attacking Israel and killing Muslims; it was bought off by Western governments paying bribes and ransoms; then it felt bold enough to challenge the US itself.
Nick Berg was their perfect sacrifice - American and Jewish - the boys with the RPGs and AK47s don't distinguish....all foreigners are targets, but the architects of terror know the symbolism of ritual slaughter - Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg...both killed by Arabs........
There is no retreat from this test, it is just a good thing that the front line was moved out of the Us and into Iraq and Afghanistan.......or the US might have begum to live like Israel in fear of terror
